West Hills Remodel

West Hills Remodel Dining Room

Views of the city and the mountains are spectacular from this 1930s traditional style house. The owners wanted outside space from which to enjoy the view, as well as to accommodate large parties.

Re-designed dining area, with four-panel opening wall system. New porch with an outdoor kitchen. Deck area is 3 feet lower than the new porch so it 'disappears' from interior of house.

Remodel View of Portland and Mt. Adams

View from new porch. The steep slope of the site was an engineering and construction challenge, and the site layout dictated the octagonal plan of the new porch and deck. Construction emphasized low-maintenance and permanence throughout.
