Sullivan's Gulch Remodel

Sullivan's Gulch Portland Oregon Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen remodel expanded the kitchen into what had been a dining nook, relocated the door to the dining room to improve circulation, and specified new windows to improve light and spaciousness.

With an efficient plan layout, lots of storage space, a window seat looking into the backyard, and traditional face-frame style cabinetry, the new kitchen is handsome, functions well, and is a comfortable space to be in.

Kitchen remodel: main work area.

Portland Oregon Kitchen Remodel, chimney corner

The old chimney flue was retained, and concrete parging was removed to expose the brick.

The design specified new windows to match the existing style and proportions (left) but changed their locations and located them higher in the wall (right) to improve light, view, and spaciousness.

Portland Oregon Kitchen Remodel Window Seat

A new window seat looks into the back garden. Before the remodel there wasn't any visual connection between the garden and the kitchen.
