The Hood River 'Columbia Street Cottages' multi-unit development replaced two worn-out single family houses. The two existing lots were subdivided to build five new houses, which were coordinated to create an access easement, shared outside space, and a view corridor to Mt. Adams and the Columbia River.
This contemporary craftsman cottage cluster design provides views of Mt. Adams from each house, and preserved Legacy trees to enhance indoor and outdoor spaces. The houses are a duplex with two 3-bed, 2.5 bath units of 1700 sq ft each, and three standalone houses of 2000 to 2900 sq ft. Custom design details include bright and airy open floor plans, built-ins, and antique and re-used materials.
