Habitat for Humanity’s four-townhouse (two duplex) Hope Avenue project in Hood River, Oregon. This Multi-Unit Housing project conforms with Hood River’s ‘Middle Housing’ requirements to expedite the permit process.
This project is designed for a tight leftover scrap of a site consisting of an unbuilt 60' x 400' street right-of-way next to I-84 in Hood River. The houses are set back from the street to preserve three large oak trees at the front of the property, and the floor plans leave just enough room for south-facing garden space away from the freeway. A kitchen/ dining/ living area and three bedrooms with 2-1/2 bathrooms are all fit into 1200 square feet, the maximum allowed under Hood River's 'Middle Housing' designation.
