Tower Addition

This Portland house addition and remodel created space for an upstairs bathroom and other spaces. We converted the existing front porch into an interior entry area. Concrete front stairs were built outside the new front door. The tower form creates enough full-height floor area for the new bathroom and closets, complementing without overwhelming the original house. The new tower is structurally discrete from the existing house, using vertical cantilevers in the downstairs porch corners for lateral stability without reconstruction or disruption of the existing house.
